FAQs

  • My political experience has been shaped by my commitment to advocacy and community engagement.

Currently, I serve as the Secretary of the BC Green Party, where I have participated in the largest growth of the organization in its history. As well, I help guide our initiatives and connect with our members. I had the privilege of representing youth as the Youth At-Large representative, where I amplified the voices of young people within our party. Additionally, I chair the party's Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee, working to ensure that our policies reflect the diverse perspectives of our communities.

As a fourth-year Political Science student, I've gained valuable insights into the political landscape, which I applied during my campaign as a candidate in the 2020 snap election. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the challenges we face and strengthened my resolve to advocate for progressive change that benefits everyone in our province.

  • Affordability, sustainability, healthcare, and community are deeply personal to me because they impact every part of our lives. In Port Coquitlam and across BC, people are struggling to keep up with rising housing costs.  My friends families are being priced out of neighbourhoods where they have lived for years.  Few of my friends believe that they will ever be able to own a home.

We need to ensure that everyone has access to safe, affordable housing so families can stay rooted in the communities that they love.

Sustainability is about protecting our environment and creating long-term solutions that benefit both people and the planet.

Our healthcare system needs to be accessible and properly funded so that everyone who needs care can access it.

We need strong, supportive communities.  We are going to face tremendous challenges in the next decades and our greatest tool in meeting them is our communities.

These values drive my vision for a BC where everyone can thrive.

  • My parents, Kevin and Wendy, met early in their teaching careers at Pinetree Way Elementary. After 24 years, they are now happily retired and enjoying life together. Family is important to me, and I am lucky to have a younger sister at home. My 91 year old grandfather Earle lives with us. Earle is Métis, and a former dentist. At home, we are surrounded by our fur family: a Doodle named Ruby, an adopted cat, Loki, and three rescue cats, Pebbles, Stewart, and Reid.

  • Growing up, I had the privilege of watching my dad in his role as an Elementary school Principal, where he was committed to not just running a school but building a true community. He was always deeply involved, organizing events, supporting families, and creating an environment where everyone—students, teachers, and parents—felt connected. His work went beyond the day-to-day responsibilities of being a Principal; it was about fostering a sense of unity and care within the school.

I remember joining my mother on the picket lines when teachers pushed for better learning conditions for their students and working conditions for their colleagues. Being at my parents side during those moments taught me the importance of standing up for fairness, even when it's tough. These were lessons in solidarity, and those experiences shaped my understanding of what it means to stand up for a community

  • I began my education at Cedar Drive Elementary, where I truly experienced the nurturing impact of a Port Coquitlam community. I moved with my peers to Minnekhada Middle School, where I build friendships and a passion for making a difference. By the time I graduated from Terry Fox Secondary, I had shaped a vision for what a brighter, more sustainable future could look like and discovered political action as a course to achieve it.

Today, I am majoring in Political Science at Simon Fraser University, driven by my to drive for positive change. As well, I am pursuing a minor in Resource and Environmental Management, with the end goal of one day earning a Master’s degree in Urban Planning in order to help shape a sustainable future.
